Marks Music Lessons Coquitlam, BC - Online Music Lessons
I had the privilege of developing a website for Mark and Karla of Mark's Music Lessons in Coquitlam BC. Go to www.marksmusiclessons.ca . Mark and Karla provide FUN! and EASY! beginner instruction, or formal Royal Conservatory training, technique, and music examinations.
I really want to pass along some amazing feedback about their services and hopefully inspire people to go and check them out.
Mark of Mark's Music Lessons has been instructing my nine year old son in guitar. Every Wednesday evening we go to Mark's home for private instruction and when we arrive, there is a warmth and sense of excitement in the environment that makes it very comfortable for all. There are plenty of smiling faces before during and after music lessons.
More than this, Mark will even come to the home to teach lessons which is very convenient for busy families like ours. We have not taken advantage of this because Mark has something better than in home lessons.
Mark has come up with a terrific and simple concept that is really great for the environment too. It's called Mark's Online Cam 2 Cam music lessons. Instead of travelling to his studio, or Mark having to drive to your home, you can link up with messaging software and a web cam from anywhere in the world and enjoy music lessons online, real time, live. Messaging programs include: Skype, Ichat, Oovoo, or Google Video Chat.
We tried this for the first time last night and all I can say is wow! My son loved it, Mark can zoom in to demonstrate proper positioning on the guitar, the sound was great and best of all it SAVED TIME! We saved 20 minutes of time just by not having to drive to his studio. This really helps considering the volume of homework that my son has every evening. Talk about convenient.....Once again you can be anywhere in the world and receive lessons. To see a demonstration, I have posted a link to his video on Youtube below. Check it out, try it and see for yourself how effective this online music lesson concept is.

BDN Mechanical
Just completed a website for a great company called BDN Mechanical in Port Coquitlam, BC. They provide garbage compactor sales, service, repair and custom fabrication. BDN Mechanical had a website that was very limited in it's ability to represent the variety of products and services that they provide. The website was a source of frustration and was rarely used as a marketing tool. Now with the new website, they are able to proudly represent their business to existing and prospective clients, reach a broader market thanks to some SEO strategies that we employed. To see a full version of their website, go to www.bdnmechanical.com .

Survival of the fittest
In my weekly travels I meet a wide variety of business people and one of the greatest benefits of my business is that I have a front row seat to the entrepreneurial community. I get to witness first hand the successes and struggles that many people are facing. There are many reasons for either but the one most common barriers to success is the inability for entrepreneurs to delegate non productive tasks so that they can concentrate on the revenue producing activities that will allow them to be successful.
An entrepreneur is often motivated passionately about a product or service that they're offering but with the responsibility of marketing, book keeping, project management etc and they lose momentum. It's not easy to let go so that you can be your best at in your chosen field but it is critical. What most people overlook is their own personal value. They only see what they have to pay out but not what they can gain through delegating to an outsourced professional. If your productivity is worth $75 per hour and you can find a book keeper for under $25 per hour to handle your books, you're up $50 per hour in productivity because you will be able to use that time for revenue generating activities.
I don't think that I am writing anything new here for experienced business owners but for the newbies this is something to pay particular attention to. It's a daunting effort to multi-task when you're in business for yourself but what if you're disorganized or not good at keeping accurate records or keeping appointments with prospective clients? How then will you handle the fallout?
There are some great ways to correct this situation and I would like to invite my fellow entrepreneurs to share their success or setback stories for others to learn from.

Businesses Need a Web Presence
I make many sales calls throughout each week and while I find many companies already leveraging their use of the internet to further their business and develop new opportunities, there is an alarming number of companies that have not caught onto the notion that having a web site can help their business.
The number one issue that I have found with prospective clients is the failure to recognize that people (seekers of online information) want more information on a company than what is found through simple directories and that a company website will help them decide whether or not to select the company to do business with. A website is a virtual view of the business in question. If you cannot offer your prospective clients an understanding of what you do better than anyone else, how can you expect to earn their business in this digital age. A website will allow you to showcase your talents and attract a wider audience than you would otherwise attract through traditional mediums. The beauty of having a website is that you can shape it to show as little or as much of your business as you want.
I recognize that many are concerned about privacy and not giving up too much to the competition but the reality is that you are in control of what information you wish to publish. The most important thing that you can do for your business is to make information available for people to see. When you are visible online, you can increase your chances of earning business from clients doing targeted searches for your types of services. When you're not online or limited to general directories people have to guess that you're the ideal company. Chances are that the those that have invested in an online presence will prevail over those who have not taken the next step.

Faria Mechanical Web Site Redesign
OLD SITE
In March 2010, Faria Mechnical of Coquitlam BC came to Ancell Marketing requesting an update to their old website design. Their earlier web site on the left was dark, gray, images were large and there was not enough copywriting to really help people understand the abundance of plumbing and mechanical services that they provide. They have a great logo design and an amazing picture of one of their service vehicles which we were able to utilize for their new website. After a careful analysis of their needs Ancell Marketing came up with a success strategy to help Faria Mechanical increase their online presence in the Vancouver Lower Mainland.
NEW SITE
Ancell Marketing redesigned the web site from the
ground up ensuring that it included key elements necessary for successful search engine rankings. We also categorized their services into two sections making it easy for the visitor to figure out exactly what Faria Mechnical is capable of. In addition to including a previously filmed commercial video of Faria in action, we also used photos and descriptions of their various projects in a simple layout to showcase the variety.
